To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if his Department will take steps to promote and assist the national asthma survey, organised by Action Asthma; and if he will make a statement.

I understand that the survey was launched on 3 September with the aim of assessing the extent to which people in the United Kingdom are affected by asthma, thus enabling improvements in asthma management to be considered. The Scottish Home and Health Department is obtaining from Action Asthma information about its work.
