To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his reply of 12 June, Official Report, column 142, when he expects that the work in hand on the implications for British forces of the Defence Planning Committee meeting of 22–23 May will be complete.

The review of readiness and availability requirements for NATO forces to which I referred in my reply of 12 June is progressing satisfactorily and further interim measures have been agreed. Details are classified. We expect work to continue for some time yet.
