To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what representations he has received concerning housing difficulties for students in higher education in Scottish establishments.

Apart from one case raised by the hon. Member himself, my right hon. and learned Friend has received no representations on behalf of students during the past year about the availability of student housing. He has, however, received various representations about the withdrawal of most students' entitlement to housing benefit as part of the revised student support arrangements.
