To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans his Department has to improve the condition of the economy and manufacturing industry in Renfrewshire.

The Scottish Office continues to support economic development in Renfrewshire through the provision of financial assistance towards capital investment which creates or maintains employment, through the attraction of inward investment to the area, through its involvement in the Ferguslie Park partnership and through its support, through the SDA, for the Inverclyde initiative and a number of other local initiatives.
