To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what additional funds will be made available to local authorities for the financing of the enforcement of the Food Safety Act 1990.
Mr. Maclean
The Government are making available an additional £30 million per year from 1991–92 onwards to cover the additional cost for local authorities enforcing the Food Safety Act and the EC directive on the official control of foodstuffs.
