To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether his Department has had any discussions with (a) possible sponsors and (b) Lincolnshire local education authority about the development of a city technology college in Lincoln; and if he will make a statement.

My right hon. and learned Friend is aware that Lincolnshire LEA and a group of local industrialists are considering making proposals to him for the establishment of a school with many of the characteristics of a city technology college. The City Technology Colleges Trust has held discussions with those involved and an architect from the Department has visited the possible site of the school.
