To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many people have been infected by the AIDS virus through the infusion of whole blood or platelets.

Up to 31 December 1990 the total number of reports in Scotland of people who have contracted AIDS as a result of their having received whole blood transfusions/platelets within the United Kingdom and abroad is five.
