To ask the Prime Minister whether he will seek European Community and United Nations support for a homeland and state for the Kurdish people.

No. The United Kingdom is a signatory to the treaty of Lausanne of 1923 which established the present-day frontiers in the region bounded by Iran, Iraq and Turkey. There can be no question of our seeking support for the establishment of a separate Kurdish state within those boundaries.
