To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science when he received the latest report of the Interim Advisory Committee on School Teachers' Pay and Conditions; and when he expects to publish it.

I received the report on 18 January and will publish it shortly.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science whether he proposes that the recommendations of the Interim Advisory Committee on School Teachers' Pay and Conditions should be fully funded.

Funding for teachers' salaries for 1991–92 was settled when the Government announced increased education standard spending for that year. The increase took full account of the remit given to the interim advisory committee and would fund recommendations within that remit.
