To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will list for each enterprise zone, the number of (a) new businesess created, (b) jobs created, (c) business bankruptcies and (d) jobs lost in each year since the creation of each enterprise zone.

The latest published information on new businesses and jobs is included in the Department's report "Enterprise Zone Information 1987–88", a copy of which is in the Library. Information for 1988–89 will be available shortly. Data on business bankruptcies and jobs lost in each year are not collected.
