To ask the Secretary of State for Employment, pursuant to his answer of 16 July to the hon. Member for Merthyr Tydfil and Rhymney on Remploy, what assessment he has made of the financial and job consequences of the decline in orders placed.

Remploy has continued to increase its annual sales turnover despite the loss of business from the Crown suppliers. Although 80 job opportunities for people with severe disabilities nationally have been lost as a result of that loss of business, there have been no redundancies amongst the disabled work force, as the reduction has been achieved through natural wastage. Remploy is taking active steps to build up its direct business with Government Departments.
