To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) how many employees in employment in Scotland worked in service industries in (a) June 1990 and (b) June 1991;(2) how many employees there were in manufacturing in 1979 in Scotland; and how many there were in the latest year for which figures are available;(3) how many employees in employment in Scotland there were in June 1979; and how many there were in June 1991.

Estimates of the number of employees in employment in Scotland are available up to March 1991. The table gives the available information.
