To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what proportion of the nuclear levy is going to (a) the nuclear and (b) the renewable non-fossil fuel generating stations in (i) the current financial year and (ii) the next financial year.

Precise figures for the distribution of the fossil fuel levy between nuclear and renewables for the current financial year are not available. However, the capacity contracted within the non-fossil fuel obligation for nuclear for the current financial year is now some 8GW, compared with some 27MW for renewables. The distribution of the levy will be broadly related I o these capacities. It is not possible to give the corresponding figures for the next financial year, since the second non-fossil fuel obligation for renewables has not yet been made.
