To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1) what feasibility studies were carried out by the Overseas Development Administration of the Pergau hydro-electric project before offering aid to the Government of Malaysia;(2) what additional studies were considered by the Overseas Development Administration in relation to the Pergau project.

In considering this project the Overseas Development Administration had available a feasibility study carried out by the Snowy Mountains Engineering Corporation and as part of our own appraisal financed studies of environmental issues and contract pricing.
