To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how widespread is the use of the benzodiazepine sleeping pill temazepam by RAF personnel; and how many of these are undergoing treatment for panic attacks as a result of taking the drug.

Temazepam is used by RAF personnel who have difficulties in sleeping due to disturbance of their rest and activity patterns associated with intensive air operations.I am not aware of any personnel having undergone treatment for panic attacks as a result of taking temazepam.
