To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has to reform the current charity laws; and if he will make a statement.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what proposals he has to reform the current charity laws; and if he will make a statement.
Mr. John Patten
The Government's proposals for reforming charity law are set out in the White Paper, "Charities: A Framework for the Future", published in 1989. There is always pressure for a place in the legislative programme, but preparation of a Bill is well advanced and we hope that there will be an early opportunity to introduce the legislation.
