Mr. Corbyn
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) what contingency measures are in place to deal with the environmental damage that could arise from a decision to bomb Iraq's nuclear plants;(2) what contingency plans there are to evacuate civilians or offer assistance in the event of a decision being made to bomb Iraq's nuclear plants.
Mr. Archie Hamilton
We look to Iraq to comply in full with the terms of Security Council resolution 687. I am not prepared to speculate about any action which may be necessary to ensure Iraqi compliance.
