To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is now the total amount paid by the Metropolitan police in (a) out-of-court settlements and (b) in-court awards arising from complaints about police conduct in the past 12 months to date.

I understand from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the amounts paid by the Metropolitan police in settlements out of court and under awards made by the courts arising from allegations of wrongful acts by Metropolitan police officers are as follows:
