To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the current rate of corporation tax; and what are the levels of company taxation in other European Community member states.

The main rate of corporation tax for the financial year 1991 is 33 per cent. The main rates, including local taxes, for other EC member states vary between 35 and 49 per cent., with an average of about 41 per cent.
