To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what assumptions on unemployment in 1991–92 and 1992–93 were used in the construction of the expenditure plans announced in the autumn statement.

The spending plans in the 1990 autumn statement were based on an assumed level of unemploy-ment in Great Britain of 1·75 million in 1991–92 and 1992–93.
