To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what steps he is taking to achieve his commitment to end the practice of holding young people in prison accommodation.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Health has established a national steering group to plan and take forward the work needed to give effect to the juvenile remand provisons of the Criminal Justice Act 1991, including the abolition of prison remands for 15 and 16-year-old boys.
