To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether planning consent was sought by his Department from Westminster council prior to building the eight-storey block between the arches of Thames House, Millbank.

Planning consultation under DOE circular 18/84 took place between the Property Services Agency and Westminster city council between September 1989 and November 1989. On 9 November 1989, Westminster city council confirmed that it had decided to raise no objections to the proposals put forward, in respect of both listed building consent and planning consent.
