Mr. Pendry
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will publish a table showing the cost of policing the party conferences for (a) the Labour party, (b) the Conservative party and (c) the Liberal Democrats, for each year from 1987 to 1991, giving the percentage increase in costs between each year and the percentage increase between 1987 to 1991; and if he will give an estimate of the full economic cost of policing each conference.
Mr. Peter Lloyd
I understand from the chief officers of the forces concerned that the additional costs of policing the party conferences for the Labour party, the Conservative party and the Liberal Democrats for each year from 1987 to 1991 were estimated as follows:
Year | Force | Additional cost £ | Percentage increase in costs between each year |
No identifiable | |||
1990 | Lancashire | policing costs | — |
No identifiable | |||
1991 | Dorset | policing costs | — |
