To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will give the latest available figures for the number of people on (a) income support, (b) family credit and (c) disability benefit and the equivalent for 1979.

Social Security operational matters are the responsibility of Mr. A. Wylie, chief executive of the Social Security Agency. He has written to the hon. Member and copies of his reply will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.
