To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what consideration his Department has given to re-opening the possibility of applications from Commonwealth citizens who wish to seek British citizenship; and if he will make a statement.

Commonwealth citizens may acquire British citizenship by naturalisation. I assume that the hon.
