To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science by how much funding towards education in Nottinghamshire provided by the Government has increased since 1979.

Net recurrent spending on education in Nottinghamshire increased from some £138 million in 1979–80 to some £338 million in 1989–90, the latest year for which information on actual spending is available.
