To ask the Secretary of State for Employment whether the arrangements for the early retirement of the chief inspector of the nuclear installations inspectorate includes a non-disclosure agreement.

The Health and Safety Executive chief inspector of nuclear installations retired on reaching the normal age of retirement. In common with all civil servants, he signed the Official Secrets Act on commencement of his employment and will continue to be bound by it after retirement. This covers the divulging of any information gained as a result of his appointment.
