20.

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what proposals he has for reforming the government machinery dealing with Scotland.

Reform of the government machinery in Scotland is continuous. We have transferred to the Scottish Office responsibility for nature conservation matters and for training under Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and local enterprise companies. We propose that responsibility for Scottish universities will also be transferred.
