To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what recent discussions he has had with 'the National Farmers Union about hill farming; and if he will make a statement.

My noble Friend the Minister for Agriculture in Scotland and other Agriculture Ministers met the four national farming unions on 23 October to review the economic situation in the hills and uplands. We will announce the results of the review as soon as possible.
