To ask the Secretary of State for Health what building works costing more than £5 million he expects to be carried out at the West Middlesex University hospital during the next 12 months.

The Department has not received any approval-in-principle submissions from North West Thames and consequently no funding has yet been identified for any major scheme at West Middlesex. The regional health authority, however, recognises the case for investment there and is currently awaiting submission of the proposals being developed by the district.
