To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science what is his policy on local education authority inspections of schools for health and safety.
Mr. Atkins
It falls to local education authorities to ensure that their inspection arrangements are appropriate for the discharge of both their statutory duties and wider responsibilities with regard to health and safety.
