To ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether the pre-flight briefing of the crew of the Tornado aircraft which crashed in the North sea on 16 August 1990 included plans for simulated attacks on shipping.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what are the specified minimum horizontal and vertical separation distances between an attacking aircraft and a target vessel doing simulated low-level attacks on civilian shipping targets of opportunity.

The specified minimum separation distance from civilian shipping for aircraft in low level flight over the sea is 250 ft both horizontally and vertically.
