[holding answer 20 January 19921: The educational policies and curriculum in East Timor are similar to those applied in schools throughout Indonesia. As elsewhere, there are a number of Catholic schools in East Timor. One of these in Dili teaches in Portuguese. The official language of government in East Timor is Indonesian.
