Member for Ogmore (Mr. Powell) of 20 January, Official Report, column 3, on inward investment, what proportion of the projects and jobs promised is related to (a) acquisition of businesses or business premises already in existence in Wales and (b) construction and development of new business premises.

The 1991 figures include 12 acquisitions—6.5 per cent.—involving 3,839 jobs—22.5 per cent. Records are not kept of the proportion of projects that involve new building.
