Nebulisers

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will set out the arrangements concerning charging for NHS nebulisers; and if he will make a statement.

Certain hand operated nebulisers may be prescribed by general practitioners, and where the patient is not exempt, a normal prescription charge is levied. Powered nebulisers are provided free for domiciliary patients through the hospital service if they are considered by a hospital consultant as being clinically necessary.
