To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what measures Her Majesty's Government take to promote respect for human rights abroad.

Her Majesty's Government make frequent representations on human rights both bilaterally and jointly with others. We play an active role in United Nations and European human rights forums, including the current session of the United Nations Commission on Human Rights. Further information is given in the foreign policy document, "Human Rights in Foreign Policy", copies of which are available in the Libraries of the House.
