To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government have made any proposals for increasing the role of the United Nations in conflict resolution.

At the high level meeting of the United Nations Security Council on 31 January, we successfully proposed that the Secretary-General prepare a major report, by the first of July, in the United Nation's work in preventive diplomacy, peacemaking and peacekeeping. We shall contribute ideas to it.
