To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the purpose of the NATO naval exercise, Teamwork, that began off Norway on 2 March; and what contribution was made to the exercise by the Royal Navy.

Teamwork 92 began on 6 March, and will run until 25 March. It is a maritime, air, amphibious and field training exercise designed to maintain the professionalism and operational effectiveness of NATO forces. Nineteen Royal Navy ships and submarines, nine ships of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and approximately 4,000 Royal Marines are participating.
