To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what progress is being made in developing proposals to extend the tube network to Camberwell. Dulwich and beyond.

London Transport and the five London boroughs directly affected are working together on the south London rail study. I understand that phase I of the study, which looks at the transport needs of the area, is now close to completion. Phase II, which will look at the case for extending underground lines, should start later this year.
