To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what negotiations his Department has had with European officials over the possible siting of the headquarters of a European central bank in London.

The site of the European central bank has been discussed on a number of occasions and my Department continues to press the strong market case for locating the new European monetary institutions in London.
