To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what recent representations he has received from the British Council of Organisations of Disabled People in regard to the Disability (Grants) Bill; and what response he has made.

The Secretary of State received a letter on this subject from the Council at the beginning of February. The letter was also copied to the Prime Minister, and a reply was sent from his office.

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what representations he has had from the British Council of Organisations of Disabled People in regard to the Disability (Grants) Bill and the £500 limit on help to enable disabled people to live independently in the community; what reply he is sending; and if he will make a statement.
