To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland which private consultants have been engaged to prepare Grampian Healthcare to apply for NHS trust status; what is the remit for each of the consultants; what is the total cost of each contract; and what are the funding sources to meet the total cost.

[holding answer 29 June 1992]: Contracts have been placed with the undermentioned companies to advise the Grampian Healthcare Unit on various aspects related to the development of a NHS trust proposal. The total cost has been estimated at £48,000, funded £33,000 from the Scottish Office Home and Health Department and £15,000 from Grampian health board using moneys specifically allocated for this purpose:

  • Greenhalga and Co. Ltd.
  • SECTA Consulting Group
  • PR Consultants (Scotland)
  • Patricia Hopkins Associates
  • Format Communication Art
