To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what action he proposes to take on the recommendations contained in the joint Powys county council/NFU report entitled "Report on Legal Aspects Relating to New Age Travellers", forwarded to his Department in May.

The report is under consideration. The Government have in hand a review of the operation of the Caravan Sites Act 1968 with the aim of reducing the nuisance of illegal camping. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment and I hope soon to issue a public consultation paper containing proposals for reform.
