18.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is his policy towards the sale of arms to other countries.

It is our general policy to support the sale of British defence equipment overseas wherever this is compatible with our political, strategic and security interests and does not conflict with our international obligations.

20.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when he last met his Saudi Arabian counterpart to discuss arms sales.

My right hon. and learned Friend has not yet had a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Minister of Defence but he looks forward so to doing. His predecessor last met the Saudi Arabian Minister of Defence on 21 January this year.
