To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his answer of 14 May, Official Report, column 204, which non-Home Office police forces have an agreement with the Police Complaints Authority; and which do not.

The Police Complaints Authority has agreements under part IX of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 with six private police forces. These are:

  • British Transport Police
  • Ministry of Defence Police
  • Port of Liverpool Police
  • Port of Tilbury Police
  • Royal Parks Constabulary
  • United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority Constabulary
An exhaustive list of other bodies with powers to appoint a body of constables is not readily available, but agreements have been made with the Police Complaints Authority by all forces whose strengths exceed 100 officers.
