To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what cases there have been of rabies in the Falkland islands; and if there are any indigenous diseases of animals, fishes or plants in the islands that might threaten the United Kingdom if they were to be imported from the islands.

We have no record of any rabies cases reported from the Falkland Islands. Sheep on the islands are affected by Brucella ovis which if imported would threaten the United Kingdom, but we are not aware of any similar diseases of fish or plants.
