To ask the Secretary of State for Wales when he proposes to make known his expenditure plans for the balance of £5 million of capital resouces not included in his announcement of 27 February, Official Report, column 1152.

I have today made £2 million available for the discretionary use of district health authorities and £1.6 million as a contribution towards the provision of MRI equipment at Morriston hospital and for a mobile unit based in north Wales. In addition, authorities will be invited to submit bids for resources which I intend to provide as a contribution towards the capital cost of providing better day surgery facilities. Over £1.5 million is set aside for this purpose.
