To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what plans he has to review the maximum sentence where fatality follows as a result of car theft.

We have no plans at present to review the maximum penalties for offences under the Aggravated Vehicle-Taking Act 1992. We have, however, made clear our intention to raise the maximum penalty for causing death by dangerous or drink driving to 10 years as soon as a suitable legislative opportunity is available.
