Mr. Corbyn
To ask the Secretary of State for Employment what proportion of under 21-year-olds move directly on to permanent employment from training schemes.
Mr. McLoughlin
In 1992, 35 per cent. of those leaving youth training moved directly into employment. In the same period, 19 per cent. of those aged under 21 leaving employment training found a job.For both programmes, regular follow-up surveys show that much greater proportions are in a job three months after leaving their training.
