To ask the President of the Board of Trade what guarantees he is providing to recipients of concessionary fuel and cash in lieu in the run up to and after the industry is privatised.

I can assure present and past employees of British Coal with entitlements to concessionary fuel or cash in lieu of fuel, and their eligible dependants, that existing entitlements will be safeguarded before and following privatisation of the industry.
